What is Apigenin?

Apigenin is one of the active ingredients in Blissgevity. Apigenin is found in many plants such as chamomile and have been found to be beneficial for depression, insomnia and pain management to name a few. Read below to learn more about Apigenin, an active ingredient in Blissgevity.

Apigenin

Apigenin is an active ingredient in Blissgevity that provides a wide range of support for day to day life.  Apigenin is a flavonoid found in many fruits and vegetables, but parsleyceleryceleriac, and chamomile tea are the most common sources. Apigenin' inhibits the mao b enzyme and by doing so raises our endogenous levels of PEA and enables the PEA in supplement form in Blissgevity to be absorbed.  [1]

Also by lowering levels of the mao a & b enzyme apigenin raises levels of dopamine and serotonin which can contribute to assertiveness, improved mood, confidence and motivation.  Inhibiting the mao b enzyme has shown to be beneficial in assisting in a healthy aging brain. Inhibiting the mao b enzyme also has shown to increase lifespan in numerous studies. Human longevity studies require 40 plus years so scientist by necessity must rely on animal research.  In elderly rats treated with an mao inhibitor, at mid life remaining life span doubled. Older dogs given an mao inhibitor had twice the survival rate compared with placebo-treated dogs.  Mice lived up to about 200% longer on an mao inhibitor. [2.1] [2.2] [2.3] [2.4]

Apigenin is an anxiolytic or using a less technical term its an anti anxiety supplement. [3] Apigenin also inhibits the enzyme cd38 by doing so it raises levels of NAD+ this is one of the most important means for improving lifespan. [4] For further reading on the subject of the importance of raising levels of NAD+ read David Sinclair's book Lifespan.

Apigenin may provide beneficial effects in depression, insomnia, thyroid dysfunction, anti-diabetic properties, pain management and more. Apigenin acts as a muscle relaxer and it is also active as an antioxidant, anti-inflammatory, anti-amyloidogenic, neuroprotective, and cognition-enhancing substance with interesting potential in the treatment/prevention of Alzheimer’s disease. [5]

Apigenin also has many beneficial effects on the skin. Research has shown that apigenin has anti-inflammatory effects, it can improve several markers of aging such as firmness, elasticity and fine wrinkling and maintains hydration. Apigenin has shown to increase collagen and dermal thickness thus improving the appearance of photo aged skin. [6.1]  [6.2]

This is just the tip of benefits that are possible with Apigenin. When combined with our formula that includes Phenylethylamine (PEA), Blissgevity provides a sensorial euphoric experience that is, in our opinion, superior to any other supplement or pharmaceutical product in the market. We look forward to hearing how Blissgevity has helped you!
